IMPERFECT almost ready, and more!

Jul 29, 2021 by Holly Carr

I have a problem.

Everything I read tells me my blog needs to be about something. A subject I am an 'expert' on, preferably. And I'm just not at that level with anything you're going to be interested in.

If you want to know how to manipulate your husband into picking you up Mexican takeaway, I'm your girl. If you've got a burning desire to hear my opinion on the 'sheet taco' method of keeping your fake tan off your bedding, vs the 'doona cover burrito' method, you're in the right place. Want to discuss the fine art of moving your cat to the tiles right before he vomits on the carpet? ... okay even I don't have that skill down 100% of the time, but really, who does?

Basically, I'm telling you that you're probably not going to learn anything here that's going to make your life more meaningful. But I'll keep it entertaining, and I'll even occasionally make references to writing and publishing books - which is probably the whole reason you're here.

Today is one of those days where I’m going to talk about books, because the proof of ‘IMPERFECT’ (my debut novel) arrived today! I need to check it for errors, but all is looking good so far. I’m so confident that I’ve even updated my website to indicate it’s going to be published in August — if you’re paying attention, that’s next month!

I’ve also added a little blurb about my next novel, ‘UNLUCKY’, which I’m expecting will be out next year. I’m about 2/3 of the way through writing the draft and it’s looking good. Probably better than IMPERFECT, to be honest, but that’s what experience will do.

They’re not part of a series, which you’re undoubtedly expecting, given the titles are both adjectives with crossed out prefixes. As such, you can safely read IMPERFECT and not have to wait a year for loose ends to be tied up.

If you hear me saying UNLUCKY has gone off to the editor before the end of the year, I’m on track to release around the same time as I did this year. Keep your eyes peeled!
